Is there any possible way they can bring him back?

Should have never traded him in the first place. Stan GM's like he plays EA Sports NHL game.

Panarin or nor Panarin, no difference, as I've said for the past year there is no recipe for success with this roster/prospects/contracts/cap until 2021 or 2022 seasons at the earliest.

Cap room is being reserved for the Dcat/Schmaltz extensions.

It's time to embrace the suck, we need a few years of top-5 draft picks to reload for the future, and we are well positioned to do so especially if Craw is finished and Ward is our #1.

well, if you cannot stop them you need to score more, and 80 points from a guy will help that.

...Unless Panarin and Kane are hemmed into our zone more often than not.

Panarin would help, but he wouldn't put us over....2016 proved that. Panarin was on fire, Crawford was on fire, Kane torched the league....and the team still fell short because those three were the only ones who showed up for the year.

Spending a fuckton on Panarin gives the team less options moving forward since we're still saddled with all of the other deals. It might make sense if this team was a bubble team, but we're not.

...so what's better moving forward? Trying to make the playoffs knowing full well the bulk of the core (who are irrevocably locked in until at least 2023) have shown nothing in the past 3 seasons? Or maybe taking it in the shorts for a few years and getting some high draft picks and time to develop them?

Besides, we as fans survived 2006 and 2007 when we sucked harder than Pamela Anderson at a Motel 6. This too shall pass.

Players develop, just seems like nobody is giving any opportunity for Panarin to improve defensively, get bigger and stronger to play thru the physical play and get more physical on the defensive side. It would probably help keeping the asses in seats to have showtime opportunities.

Panarin is also 26, not 22. How much more development, realistically, will he have? Kane was Kane and Toews was Toews at 26.

Even so, if the 'hawks want to compete they need competent defensive help right now, not guys who will need some time to learn/update a facet of their game which could take a season or 2.

Panarin is the type of player that would put a bubble team over the hump. On the 'hawks right now he *might* just make us a bubble team--and that's with a lot of luck.

Sharks crushed that trade. Glad we didn’t snag him, amazing player but we need to embrace the suck until 2022.

In 2022 EL will be 32, trending down, and under a massive contract.

Oh shit...nice one. Hawks one last hurrah for Thornton. Expect them to push the rest of their chips in at deadline...Jones ain't a bad netminder when hot either.

They could do it.

Burns, EK, Martin...damn

Enthwistle had a nice goal, got him in the Hoss deal. We would really have a top line here if Breadman were here with Kane and Schmaltz.

I was wondering were we got him. Goal last night was pretty good on the 2 on 1
