Rumor has it they are expecting him to not resign; instead they will trade him to the highest bidder out of the LA teams. Toronto is apparently considering the rebuild and no one was ever going to take DeRozan's awful contract (besides shitty franchises like this). They now got a big trade chip that can get them a lot for their rebuild.

So, Atlanta will pay the 27 million due to Carmello, just to set the path for Trae young and ridding the team of the blond spot Schroeder and his 3 year 46 million balance while saving OKC 70 million dollars this season. A 2022 first round pick from OKC when they should be a perennial playoff team picking in the late 20's.

Fill your team with bad contracts and someone will bail you out eventually. Lets see where Anthony ends up, looks like two teams with no state income tax.
