Anyone know about this game? I am thinking of buying my first baseball game and I had some questions.

No, you cannot delete the Cubs from the game.

Great game. What do you want to know about it. It is the only sports game I have ever played year round till the next one comes out.

OK, so please excuse me, I've let gaming take a back seat from a console perspective for years.

I see there are multiple versions of the game, which version am I suppose to buy?

I assume you are talking about the different versions; either disc, or digital? If that is the case eithe one is fine.

No, like standard, deluxe, allstar, etc, etc

Gotcha. Each one of those gives a different reward. The rewards you get go to their diamond dynasty side of the game. That side is were you collect cards, and make a team for online or offline games. You collect stubs which is than used to buy certain items ranging from jerseys to players. I personally went with deluxe. I can't remeber rewards off top of my head, but I remember getting a player mission, and stubs

so after the initial purchase of the game, do I spend more money to get these improvements or is it something that I get when like winning a game, throwing a shutout, etc?

You get rewards after games. Usually get 1 player, and stubs. It's all random.

I wouldn't spend any money personally. I just grind games, and missions and earn rewards that way. I haven't spent a dime after I purchased the game, and have a good team in DD.

Now Franchise is a different mode. I play franchise more than any mode. Pick the team ya want and build it.

If you do get the game. Download the roster from Operation Sports. It has accurate minor league system. For franchise

Don't quote me, but if it is used I think you would lose out on initial rewards if you buy deluxe, or all star. If you go with standard pretty sure you wouldn't lose anything.

That is all you would miss out on if it is used. Once you play everything would be available

So if deluxe is 10,000 stuns upon buying new, and the game is used you wouldn't get that right off the bat. But then everything would be normal in the game like it is for me.

Only if you want to play the Diamond Dynasty mode. If you want to play franchise than your not missing out. It just depends on what you want to play.

Last year was the 1st year that I ever played DD. I have always been a franchise guy. I like DD, but I would rather do franchise personally. Plus with franchise you can carry over your franchise to next years game. Right now I'm in year 2 of my cubs franchise that I started on the 2017 game. I also have a franchise that I started on the 2016 game that I play every once in awhile on this game.

ok so when you finish a year in FM, do you have to wait for the next year or does the team "age" right away without the next edition of the game?

As for Diamond Dynasty, is that for online play where you just play or is it fantasy drafting, or something?

For franchise they age, and you can keep playing. Example I played all 162 games won WS. After the season was over went into offseason, and went into next season. I was in June of that year when MLB 18 came out. I then just transferred that season into 18, and kept going on.

DD is not fantasy draft, but it is an online mode, but they do have stuff on offline for DD.

You can do a Fantasy Draft for franchise.
