Probably end up on DL til September

Give him a couple weeks to heal all his injuries ..

The Cubs could use Daniel Murphy in their lineup right now after Addison Russell was scratched from Tuesday's game against the Tigers with right shoulder inflammation.

Originally set to play short and hit ninth, Russell has hit .231 with just two RBIs and three runs in August. Javier Baez will move from second to short, Ben Zobrist will play second, Kyle Schwarber will play left field instead of Zobrist and Tommy La Stella will bat ninth in the designated-hitter spot.

The 24-year-old Russell has been dealing with a sore right hand, and the acquisition of Murphy will add some sorely needed depth to the Cubs' infield.

This news comes on the heels of Yu Darvish being shut down for the rest of the season because of a stress reaction in his right elbow.

i believe Murphy has played 3B also. I honestly see LaStella there and Murphy at DH the next game. But until Bryant returns it is tempting to run Zo at 2B and let Murphy play at 3B. That way you have Bote as a D guy later inning and LaStella keeps to a hitting role. Let Happ back up 3B some.
