What's Chatwood suffering from, did they say? Terminal lack of command?

As i hoped...

Chatwood to the DL
(Maples brought up)
Mills will start Friday

I really would like to see Mills pitch well and hold onto the 5th spot the rest of year, because id like for them to take their time with Monty and just get him ready for October...

The way the Cubs are playing right now, and with all their mounting injuries, October is no guarantee. And if God forbid the Cubs had to do the play-in game, I certainly expect the Cubs to lose that without a true shut down starter.

Here's a "just baseball" tidbit for you. Many are probably rejoicing that Chatwood with his 8.23 bb/9 is hitting the DL. I on the other hand find it hilariously ironic they are replacing him with Maples who in 37.1 innings in AAA has a 8.92 bb/9 not to mention a 8.10 bb/9 in 3.1 innings in the majors this year. You can't make that shit up.

Just looked up his numbers, you're right. He's walking about one guy an inning.....he's the same guy. Maybe they need someone to keep the bullpen clean while the real pitchers are busy pitching.

What with the (relatively) new video boards and the rebuilt, higher bleachers, you rarely see home runs go outside of Wrigley anymore. Dave Kingman used to hit 20 out of the park per year...

That was a 481 foot blast that ended up on Waveland. Nice to see, it's nostalgic for me... :)

I have been watching the Cubs for 55 years and have never seen a HR hit to that spot out of the park. Willie Mays used to hit a lot of HRs on that same path but his best were only 20 rows up and we were amazed at the time

Gotta give Kudos to Epstein and Hoyer

With little to trade with in the upper levels of minor league and without using guys on the major league roster or anyof their top prospects, they were able to add 4 solid players via trades..
Chavez Kintzler Hamels Murphy

Shows that there are some good players in the lower levels
