Seems they inked Jamie Garcia to a minor league deal also. Little stock pile going on

Maddon also talked about Russell returning. Shoulder affects long throws. Hitting unaffected.

So my thought is back to 2B to shorten his throws as Murphy’s late inning relief/day off. Bote there for Bryant late game. Zobrist most likely every day RF. They may want Cog up to give a breather also.

Wilson just retired three of four hitters he faced, and it feels like he threw 80 pitches.

Homer Bailey allows 7 runs in the first three innings, and bats for himself with two on and no outs. Reds fail to score. 7-2 Cards.

Bases loaded, 8th inning. Tie game, and we're out of relievers. And we get Caratini as pinch hitter.

For the life of me, I can't figure out this offense. They can look so dominant at times and then completely shut down at other times against weak weak pitchers like Pivetta (I've never even heard of this guy).

Meanwhile you've got the Brewers and Cardinals who continue to win. They aren't giving up.

You must of saw the data saying the Cubs were only gonna score 1 run off a starter with a high 4 ERA, leave 10 guys on base, strikeout 12 times, and Maddon would use Caratini over Schwarber to PH in the 8th with bases loaded...

Oh and the Cardinals and Brewers win easily

Tough 12 game stress here and they have to actually play the games and win, data wont save them
