So, do we want them to look foolish and get smacked in this game or do we want to look more foolish getting swept by the Crew in the LDS?

I have no confidence in this team anymore. Nowhere near as good as 2016.

Plus, there is almost no chance we win the WS, if we can even make it that far. So it really doesn't matter.

There's always next year...

The bullpen is a mess again hesding into post season, if we hit and get a lead they cant close out the last 9 outs with any confidence.

Would be a nice group of 5....take away the last 2 and its soft tosses and head cases. Only guy i have confidence in is chavez.

Interesting lineup decisions for maddon with freeland starting who's dominated left handed hitters

Does he roll with heyward for d and murphy because he's a veteran?

If so, freeland gets to see 4 left handed hitters because lester is starting and rizzo isnt sitting.

If this were a mid summer game vs freeland i feel like the lineup would be

Zobrist (2b)
Rizzo
Baez
Bryant (lf)
Happ (rf)
Almora
Contreras
Bote or heyward (move happ to lf and bryant to 3b)
Lester

Love to see that but afraid he'll roll with the defense (heyward) and veterans (murphy)

Heyward really doesn't favor RHP. He's neutral. He's hitting .293/.343/.380 vs LHP and .267/.336/.403 vs RHP for a 99 and 101 wRC+ respectively.

Murphy on the other hand... he's hitting .231/.271/.282 vs LHP this year.

If it were me I'd go with Heyward in RF, Almora in CF(.298/.343/.405) and Zobrist in LF(.336/.379/.410) with Rizzo, Bote(.275/.381/.490) Baez and Bryant. It also leaves you interesting options for double switches on the bench in Schwarber, Murphy and Happ.

Yelich was getting Bonds treatment, the cubs chose to challenge him. Lets see what Arrenado gets to swing at if there is a base open. That man just always seems to get a long ball against our cubs.

I have no problem benching Heyward, save his glove for the later innings.

Cant wait to see the roster, see what happens with Russell.
