Great to see the PP is still in fine form. Just wondering if they are ever going to put someone on the point that can actually get a shot through to the goalie?

3 on 3, win or lose...the best addition in years to NHL hockey.

Nice assist by Captain Toews on the game winning goal. We should all be grateful to have such a clutch Captain.

I seem to remember your Maple Leafs struggling against Montreal and they were at home.

It's early. But Toews looks different this year. In a very good way.

Indeed it has been a while since he decided to take over a game with high energy will and fight. Gave them the spark to turn it around...even the fight...and what a game to fight for 34 minutes just to stay even...create more chances than the other guy on the road and finally the big guys come through.

Great win. Great way to win for confidence with the back up goalie no less, who will be needed and especially early here.

Was a revelation to have an actual NHL goalkeeper...that while clearly not a Crow level in a cup run, did enough and hung tough with professionalism, two blank periods for the win.

In a season we can't expect to hang for too long in the nasty central with Jets/Blues/Preds...the longer we can the closer we get to that big trade to spend that cap and get the 1LW or 2C we really need or both.

It all depends on Crow returning to elite form...Kahun being a godsend, Sikura replacing Hino, Kunitz doing stuff, Kruger returning us to a 4th line shut down dominance to allow Kane/Toews/Saad/Gato to win games with goals.

Its not hopeless. Although...while eventually fielding 12 capable skaters is bleak, its nowhere as bleak as this defense.

But... I have hope for other pairings by december.

1) Keith-Forsling
2) Joker-Rutta
3) Seabs-Gus with Gus or Joker running the PP more often.

Rutta and Forsling are the big hope...Joker a bit green, Keith/Seabs a bit long in the tooth.
