I'm 100% for nagy's decision. The majority of kickers in that league make that kick. the fucking rookie kicker on the other sideline makes that kick.

Cody Parkey just aint good. NFL kickers are making a record number of 50+ yarders right now, cody just sucks. Im pretty sure a 70% chance of making a kick is much better than a chance at a 3rd down via throwing the ball, factoring in you could get sacked and be out of field goal range, or end up throwing the ball to the other team.

Yes, he played fox ball, but its also a smart move that would not be even discussed had Parkey done his job.

You answered your own question. If Parkey isn't any good, why would you trust him to make a 50 yard FG? And if Nagy doesn't know this yet, but you clearly do...what does that say about Nagy's player evaluation?

Because it was his first game as a head coach and play caller. If he has guaranteed points in front of him to hopefully win the game he takes it. Everyone knew rodgers would march back and shit on us to win the game. Now Nagy knows too.

McCarthy made him his bitch. Nagy even said its a learning experience for him.

Now if he makes those decisions 3 years into his career thats a different story.
So you're saying Nagy, who has been coaching in the NFL for years, and who had weeks to prepare for his first game against Rogers...didnt realize Rogers was a great QB who could lead them on a game winning drive, like he has done dozens of times before?

Acvording to you, i guess Nagy is an imbecile HC who game plans for the opposition by playing Madden the night before?

If we know who Rogers is...so does our HC.

I must be the only one that ever watches press conferences because Nagy after the game said he didn't want to pass and risk a sack driving them out of field goal range. Clearly he took what was to him the calculated risk of running and not getting a first down versus passing and potentially getting knocked out of field goal range.

This is too astounding for words. Glad you were able to confirm this information from Nagy's press conference.

Since the Chicago media is filled with intelligent people such as yourself, I'm sure somebody like Dan Bernstein asked Nagy "So, when you were at Miami's 40 yard line and now say you didn't want to risk a sack driving you out of field goal range, can we conclude that you consider the opposing team's 40-yard line 'field goal range'?"

This, every time this. People bitched nagy out for not running on 3rd down versus the packers, now they bitch him out for not passing it.

Different situations. One was 3rd and one, well within FG range against a pretty explosive offense, while the QB was struggling. The other was 3rd and 4, with the QB tearing it up, and a long FG miss ceding excellent field position to the opposing team. Nagy fucked up both times.

Yeah it is like the dude is aggressive when he shouldn't be (3rd and 1 just run the damn ball) and then conservative when he shouldn't be (3rd and 4 just pass the fucking ball).

except he didn't, because you take the points every time. Which is what he was allowed for on both drives.

Not his fault the kicker they paid millions cant complete a 52 yarder, which over half the kickers in the league make regularly now.

52 yards is NOT a long field goal in the nfl anymore. They are being hit at a 70%+ clip now, the fucking rookie on the other side had no issue making his kick. This wasn't a wrong decision. Yes, it was a conservative one, but had Parkey done his job this conversation never happens, just like if Kyle fuller had done his job.

He played John Fox football, though. He was brought here to go and win those kinds of games. Not tuck his balls between his legs because he's afraid someone will make a mistake.

Nah, you're clearly wrong in this situation. He trusted trubisky when he shouldn't have, then didn't trust him when he should have. The ultimate outcomes of both doesn't change the fact that he made the wrong decision each time.
