No it's not.
Saad has 4 more years compared to Panarin's 2 at the same cap hit.
Saad is younger. Panarin has been absent in both playoff runs, plus he will command more than 6m/year when his UFA is due.

The Hawks are looking for a splash in the draft.
I am totally fine with this deal.

holy fucking shit.

Definitely did not think Panarin was part of the problem, but bottom line, they would not be able to afford him with all these bonus dollars.

I actually like this deal for the Blackhawks. Small part of this to some, but they get a solid back up goalie in the process which they needed (he is currently a RFA though, so they will have to address that). Also, Saad is signed for 2 more years, so they get some cost control with this. I think on the surface, Panarin is a better player than Saad...but it is all about fit and what is going to work, and I don't think we see a very big overall dropoff in that department.

They will do anything for the 10.5 mil goof Toews. Dumb trade I'll take Panarin over Saad any day. Hope Panarin rapes the Hawks anytime he gets

If Debrincat can be an NHL scorer and handle the size it'll be a great fit and brings back balance.

As fun as Panarin was I'd say speed n 2way means more to a team than setting up for 1timers.

Just sad with all the Swedish D drafted and foaming up at the ahl prospect level, their figurehead is gone

I'm still pissed. I just bought my son a Panarin jersey this morning before the trade. Same damn thing happened when I bought him a Sharpie jersey. Maybe if I get him a Toews jeresey a trade?

I'm not a fan of losing Motte as well, since it hasn't been mentioned much, but before his injury he seemed on Par with Hartman in offense, and had a frame to get stronger.
