Pagano's defense finished 3rd in both points allowed and in yards allowed. They finished 13 in takeaways and 2nd Rush yards allowed, but Baltimore's defense has always been known for its ability to stop the run. Pagano drastically improved the pass defense going from 21st in passing yards allowed to 4th. They improved from 9th in passing touchdowns allowed to 1st in the league. The defense also came away with 17 interceptions. Pagano is known for his ability in secondary and ability to stop opposing teams pass attack.

Chuck Pagano is one of the best if not the best DB coach in the league. Hope he can bring in his brother John as well.

Both would be good options.

Donatell has a connection with the team and players.

Pagano has the resume.

Neither is a ranting psychopath.

Was Pagano aggressive? I would like to see more blitzes.

I am torn.

Donatell you get super valuable continuity.
Pagano, you get a way more impressive resume and that HC and big game experience could be valuable.

Dan Mac. and Dan P had Wanny on this afternoon and out of the known DCs that are available he chose Pagano, hands down. Said not only is a great DC, 3-4 is his bread and butter and the players love him.

You don't promote Donatell unless you think he has something to actually contribute. I like the idea of continuity of scheme but he needs to be more than just some robot.

Haven't heard anything if he's interested or not, but Rex Ryan would be the best option. He's the best DC in football and that includes Fangio and BB. Don't care that he talks trash, DCs talk to the media only once a week. Just keep Virginia out of the defense's meetings and it should be fine.

Pagano is the best alternative if Ryan doesn't want to do it.

Donatello is an unknown, we can't risk this roster just for the sake of continuity, especially when continuity is not that important on defense. Hard pass.

I don't like either tbh. One only has 1 year experience as a DC, before getting a hc gig, the entire time of which his D sucked, and the other has none.

Donatell was the DC for both Atlanta and Green Bay so I’m not sure what you mean.

I wouldn’t overthink it. Pick the best guy. Hopefully he’ll be around for multiple years.

I wouldn't hire Donatell just for continuity's sake. If he's the best guy for the job, though, hire him. If Pagano's better, hire Pagano.
