White Sox Broadcast Booth: From Hawk to Jason

For as long as I can remember, Hawk Harrelson has been the voice bringing me White Sox baseball on television.  Hawk has been the voice of my summer since I was seven years old, until now.  It was announced Wednesday that next year will be Hawk’s last as a broadcaster, and even that will come with a reduced slate of home games.  It truly is the end of an era. I watched baseball in the time before Hawk retur ...

Matt Davidson’s hot start a nice sign for Sox

Yesterday we took a look at Avisail Garcia’s fantastic start to the season.  Apparently I wasn’t the only one with him in mind because Brian Kenny at MLB Network dove into the same numbers I did with Garcia.  Avi then went out and went 2-2 with a walk, and RBI and two runs scored last night to raise his average to .382 on the year. Today we are going to look at one of the other hot starters for the Sox, Mat ...

Is Avisail Garcia finally breaking out?

We are a month into the 2017 baseball season and there have been quite a few surprises on the South Side.  Notwithstanding fact that the White Sox sit at 13-11, just a half game back of first place, there have been some individual surprise performances as well.  The two most notable of which are Avisail Garcia and Matt Davidson. We will start with Avisail Garcia today and get to Davidson tomorrow.  The 25-y ...

White Sox stay quiet at trade deadline, and that’s OK

The non-waiver trade deadline came and went Monday afternoon and the White Sox did…nothing.  After weeks of speculation that the Sox might move one or both of their top pitchers, Chris Sale and Jose Quintana, the Sox did not find what they deemed to be a suitable offer on the table for either pitcher. Other names were also thrown about as possible trade candidates, including David Robertson, James Shields, ...

White Sox Sign Ronald Belisario

Thursday night the White Sox announced the signing of thirty year old relief pitcher Ronald Belisario. Belisario has spent his whole career in Los Angeles with the Dodgers and posted a 3.97 ERA in 68 innings last year. Belisario is know for his fastball as it routinely touches 94 mph, but the question with Belisario is whether or not he can locate his pitches in 2014. If not, Belisario can be another Ramon ...

Tyler Flowers Settles with White Sox on One Year Deal

Monday, Rick Hahn and the White Sox settled with catcher Tyler Flowers on a 1 year/$950,000 deal. The deal seems to facilitate yet another year of debate between Flowers and prospect Josh Phegley. Flowers was anointed to be the catcher of the future when he was acquired by the Sox from the Atlanta Braves in the Javier Vazquez deal. Phegley was brought up this year as Flowers was struggling. Phegley was raki ...

White Sox Land Cuban Star Jose Abreu, Konerko Out?

Thursday afternoon reports broke that Jose Abreu had narrowed down his top destinations to the Red Sox, Houston Astros, and the White Sox. Shortly after the Red Sox were said to be out due to being outbid which left the Astros. Little time passed before the Astros looked to be out of it as well. Surviving a last second push from the Rangers, the White Sox had successfully outbid all others to land 26-year o ...

Should the White Sox Pursue Curtis Granderson?

With the season ending almost a week ago, I can tell you that no fan on the South Side of Chicago was happy with the way the Pale Hose season went. 2013 saw great pitching, some young players show their high potential, and Chris Sale continue to dominate and bud into a star. However, the team's hitting and defense was among the worst in the league, and still on his first contract, Robin Ventura, may be on t ...

Paul Konerko Wants To Continue

2013 was supposedly going to be Captain Paul Konerko's last year in Major League baseball. Things looked even more bleak as Konerko has been having one of the worst offensive seasons in his major league career. However, White Sox designated hitter Adam Dunn came out as saying there was 0% chance Konerko would retire after this season. Today Konerko told reporter Bob Nightengale that he wants to sign another ...
