Larry is just entering his freshmen year in high school and is already considered one of the top players in the 2014 class. I recently talked to Larry about recruiting trips and other thoughts concerning the upcoming season.
PH: What does it mean to you to be considered one of the top players in the 2014 Class?
LA: Its a humbling experience.
PH: Describe your visit to Illinois’ midnight madness.
LA:It was intense, and i got to see some of the other recruits.
PH: This will be your first year of high school basketball, and you will most likely be a starter as a freshmen, do you expect to take an immediate leadership role?
LA: Yes, I expect to contribute to my team whenever needed.
PH: What are some of the schools recruiting you right now? Do you have any visits scheduled right now?
LA: I have recruiting questionnaire forms from, Illinois, Michigan State, Purdue, Virgina, Dayton, DePaul, Standford, Xavier, Minnesota, and Florida State.
PH: What are some of your greatest strengths as a basketball player? Things you need to work on?
LA: Some of my strengths in basketball are getting to the basket, rebounding, good defense, court awareness, and pulling up.. but i still work on my whole game.
PH: Who will be in charge of your recruitment when several schools start calling?
LA:My Mother and Father and my High School Coach.
PH: How often do you talk to other 2014 recruits, what do you talk about?
LA: I talk to Jahlil all the time. Than the rest of them I talk to every once and a while.
PH: What do you think of Illinois upcoming recruiting classes?
LA: I think they are going to pretty good.. and Illinois has a good future ahead of them.
