The White Sox were able to salvage 2 wins from the brief road trip by taking 2/3 from the D-backs. As has been the case all year the pitching was solid and the hitting, with the exception of the finale, was weak. The Sox lost the first 1-4 and won the last 2 with scores of 6-2 and 8-2, respectively
Jackson earned the loss in the opening game with 4 ER over 6.2 innings, having one bad inning seal his fate. Humber and Danks each earned wins in their starts, with similar pitching lines, Danks went 7.2 and Humber went 7 each gave up 7 hits Danks gave up 1 ER and struck out 7 Humber gave up 2 ER and 5 K’s. the bullpen was in shutdown mode as they gave up 0 runs in the series.
The hitting left much be desired as the team batted .233 for the series with the exception of Pauly, Alexei and Pierre lead the way for the hitting and bringing up the rear was everybody else. Rios had a solid series going 3/11 with 2 homers. Konerko added 3 homers of his own.
