White Sox southpaw, John Danks, left Saturdays start after only 1.2 innings due to an oblique strain. The decision was made prior to Sundays game to place the 26 year old on the DL, said Ozzie of the decision “It was easy this morning …The doctor made the decision that he can’t pitch”. Danks was understanding of the decision, “I didn’t think I would be able to make my next start, there’s no sense in me taking up a roster spot, especially with how kind of beat up the bullpen and everyone is. I agree with it 100 percent.”

To replace Danks roster spot the Sox called up lefthander Hector Santiago. The 2006 draftee has gone 6-5 with a 4.08 ERA splitting time between A and AA this year being used primarily as a starter this year.

The hope is Santiago can neutralize the left-handed power hitting of the Rockies.
