The Chicago Cubs kick off the 2014 season in Pittsburgh on Monday. Before the season starts, here’s bold predictions I predict that will occur during the season:
Not so bold: Starting pitcher Jeff Samardzija will be traded before the non-waiver July 31st trade deadline.
Not so bold: Starting pitcher Travis Wood will be the Cubs best pitcher again and another possible all-star.
Medium bold prediction: First baseman Anthony Rizzo will hit 30 plus home runs and have a batting average of .280+. While Starlin Castro will get back to his original form, batting over .300.
Medium bold prediction: Top prospect Javier Baez will be called up in June and be a spark to the team.
Large bold prediction: The Cubs bullpen will be in the top 10 of the MLB this league.
Large bold prediction: The Cubs will be in the top five of homers in the entire league this season.
Out of the world prediction: The Cubs will be at least a .500 team this season. Yes, I went there!
Now what are your bold predictions for the 2014 season of the Chicago Cubs?
