IceHogs Post Easy Win Over Barons 5-1

The IceHogs returned to their home arena last night with a bang, easily topping the Oklahoma City Barons 5-1. IceHogs goals were by – Peter Regin, Stephen Johns, Cody Bass, Spencer Abbott, and Garrett Ross. Michael Leighton was in net for the Hogs, stopping 29 of 30 SOG.

The IceHogs wore special jerseys last night, commemorating the Rockford Hockey Club. Fans were able to bid in a silent auction during the game for those jerseys.

You needed pen & paper to keep track of all the recent moves within the Blackhawks and IceHogs rosters this past week. The Chicago Blackhawks traded D-Men TJ Brennan and Klaus Dahlbeck, leaving many Rockford fans in mourning.  In return for Brennan, the Blackhawks received F-Spencer Abbott from Toronto and promptly assigned him to Rockford. Dahlbeck was dealt to Arizona for F-Antoine Vermette, who was added to the Blackhawks line-up. In a seperate AHL deal, the IceHogs acquired D-Keith Seabrook for future considerations from Bridgeport. There were also several roster moves within the Blackhawks family between Chicago, Rockford and Indianapolis this past week too.
