Chicago White Sox: Trade Deadline Day (updates)

As we move into the final hours of the trade deadline, we’ll be tracking all of the rumors and trades surrounding the Chicago White Sox.

3:10pm: The White Sox, despite being “all in” on Cespedes, ultimately remained extremely quiet and no deals have been announced.

2:49pm: Yoenis Cespedes has reportedly been traded to the New York Mets.

2:44pm: The White Sox, according to Bob Nightengale, are officially out of the running for Yoenis Cespedes.

2:36pm: Despite not being the favorites, White Sox, per Bruce Levine, continue to pursue both Cespedes and Justin Upton.

2:30 p.m: The Detroit Tigers are reportedly “real close” to trading Yoenis Cespedes, but the White Sox are not the favorites.

12:09 p.m.: The White Sox haven’t ruled out trading Shark..

Update 9:40am: The White Sox have expressed interest in both San Diego Padres outfielder Justin Upton, as well as Detroit Tigers outfielder Yoenis Cespedes. The White Sox, thanks to a surprise winning streak, find themselves just 3 1/2 games out of a wild card spot.
