As Chicago Cubs fans waited to hear the news on outfielder Kyle Schwarber all day on Friday, the worst possible scenario was just delivered.
The Cubs announced that Schwarber will miss the entire 2016 season with a torn ACL and MCL in his left knee. He suffered the injuries while colliding with outfielder Dexter Fowler in the team’s win over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday night.

The Cubs have the depth to replace Schwarber as Jorge Soler will likely see more playing time. Still it’s a hit in the Cubs chances of winning it all this season.
