It didn’t take long for the Chicago Cubs to get on the board in the second half of the MLB season.
In the top of the first inning catcher Willson Contreras took Baltimore Orioles starter Kevin Gausman deep for a three-run home run.
It was the 12th home run of the season for Contreras and it was a big one:

Then on the next pitch, Kyle Schwarber took Gausman deep giving the Cubs a 4-0 lead early on.

Hopefully this is a sign of things to come in the second half of the season for the Cubs.
