The Chicago Cubs reign as World Series champions ended on Wednesday night when the Houston Astros beat the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 7.

The Astros won their first title in franchise history as they celebrated in Los Angeles before returning to Houston. When they got back, there was a special present waiting for them.

Houston’s Twitter account tweeted out a picture of pizza that the Chicago Cubs sent them:

Huge thank you to the @Cubs for continuing the #WorldSeries tradition of sending our front office a bunch of pizza! 🙌 pic.twitter.com/0sMKHVZ9wX

— Houston Astros (@astros) November 3, 2017

The Cubs continued the tradition of the previous World Series champion sending a gift to the new champion. Following the 2014 World Series, Boston sent new champion San Francisco some pizza. The Giants returned the favor in 2015, sending the Royals pizza and it continued when Kansas City sent Chicago pizza in 2016.

A new, fun tradition has been born. Now let’s hope the Astros have to send some pizza back to the Cubs in 2018.
