With the 205th selection, The Chicago Bears drafted cornerback Duke Shelley from Kansas State. Shelley provides depth at the cornerback position as he was strong in defending the pass. Chicago’s sixth-round pick is the first defensive pick of the draft this year.

During his time at Kansas State, Shelley averaged over seven pass deflects per season in his four-year career and intercepted eight passes during his time with the Wildcats. He will also provide the Bears with special teams depth as he returned both kickoffs and punts in his senior season at Kansas State.

  1. Like the two players the Bears picked ahead of him—running back David Montgomery and receiver Riley Ridley—Shelley made a pre-draft visit to Halas Hall.
