Former Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler looking to get into NFL broadcast booths

You may soon see former Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler get into the broadcast booth for NFL games.

After the quarterback retired from the NFL in 2016 after stints with Denver and Chicago, it was rumored he was heading for the broadcast booth. But then a late change happened and he ended up playing for Miami and Adam Gase for one more season. Cutler eventually found himself on TV as one of the stars of the hit show “Very Cavallari” on E! Network.

Now, he has plans to do NFL games as early as this Fall.

In an interview with Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports, Cutler revealed that he’s interested in a TV job and his reps have already been in contact with FOX SPORTS:

“I would love to do it. I think it’s a fun gig. It keeps you in the game,” the 38-year old Cutler said Wednesday. “If an opportunity arises, I would jump at it.”

Cutler confirmed that his agents have already “floated” his name to Fox, Amazon, and others. TV would give him the freedom to do his podcast and work with Outsider.

“I could do everything I wanted to do. Color commentary is kind of the last bucket. If I can get that filled, it would be great,” he said.

With broadcast jobs being a robust market this offseason, it wouldn’t shock us to see Cutler end up in a booth as early as this Fall. And heck, we think he’d do a heck of a job as long as we get at least one “DOONNNNNNNNT CAAAAAAAARE” out of him, right?

The network however is still to be determined.

Make sure to check out our Bears forum for the latest on the team.
