The Los Angeles Clippers have bought out 8 year veteran shooting guard, Rasual Butler from his $2.4mil contract. A source told ESPN’s Ric Bucher that the Bulls were waiting on Butler to clear waivers.
Butler has seen limited minutes since the emergence of Eric Gordon on the Clipper’s line-up. At 31 years of age, Butler was a late 2nd round pick in 2002 by the Miami Heat. He started 66 games in one and a half seasons playing for the Clippers.
Butler must clear waivers before he can sign with the Bulls.
Butler had the best scoring season of his career in 2009-10, averaging 11.9 points and 2.9 rebounds. This season he’s averaged 5.0 points and 1.9 rebounds.
Butler is making $2.4 million in the last year of his contract.
