Also based on comments it appears Donald wasn't one of the other three.

There was an offensive player on the list according to one of the beat writers.

Zack Martin would be my guess.

We are talking guys that were available with the #14 pick right?

Part of the criteria was a guy who was going to make an immediate impact. The only guy Martin would supplant on the OL would be Mills, but the Bears are pretty committed to him and like his upside going forward.

Possibly. I could see him playing LG and kicking Long to RT. Lots of options. But really thinking about it more maybe Brandin Cooks was the guy. I only mentioned Martin because in the day or so leading up the draft and even up to the Bears pick there was some chatter around Martin and the Bears.

It's already been pretty well established Donald wasn't in the mix.

I could see Brandin Cooks having a really high grade from Emery/Trestman too.

I think Donald was just locked in and they didn't need to spend more time to come to that conclusion. Not saying it is rational but I'll believe it till my grave.

Well we are basing this on quotes from Emery after the draft as far as who he had on his board etc.

http://www.chicitysports.com/forum/showthread.php/49067-Emery-Press-Conference-Shocker

"I watched Emery's complete press conference last night and noticed one shocking detail.

Early on, he mentions that right after the Giants picked, everyone was very happy because 3 of their 6 targeted players where still available and they were going to get a very good football player.

Later on, he clearly states more than once that when they were up to draft (in fact, Brad Biggs asks him several times at one point), actually on the clock, they had 3 of their targeted players still available.

So, if the Bears had 3 of their targeted player available after the Giants picked and 3 of their targeted players available when they were on the clock at 14, the person picked at 13 by the Rams was not on their list of 6 targeted players.

It seems that Donald wasn't going to be a Bear even if he were there at 14."
