I think he will get a few chances, he's a high character guy not some asshole. I think he can and will be a 'successful' backup

Back with Chicago on a one year deal after the Bears 2022 first round pick blows his ACL after a 7-0 start because the Football Gods are so ****ing cruel.

Mitch will be the classic QB who starts while the guy the team drafted to replace him develops.

IMO, he could be the leftwich of this generation. Highly rated prospect who never made it in the pros who eventually goes into coaching.

A thought I had during the superbowl was what if brady retires in a couple years and goes into coaching? His ego driving him not only to be the greatest player in nfl history but greatest coach in nfl history.

15 years as a backup at about 5M per...
Retired at 40 with few bruises.

Or given the Bears Luck some coach turns him into Steve Young...

Same place Mariota is right now - considered a decent backup but with no teams interested in kicking his tires as a starter again.

You never know people still talk about Darnold being a starter and he has never even broken a 90 rating. Maybe Mitch will get another shot.

Darnold is a year behind. This time next year people will be asking the same of him unless he has a breakthrough.

That makes sense I guess but his stats are way worse than Trubisky even at this point. Saying 90 was nice. He hasn't even broken 85 and 2 seasons in the 70s.

Never even broken 20 TD in a season.

He will be in the 2nd year of the worst 3 year deal of all time as the team who was stupid enough to give him some money is waiting on the day they can cut him without having a ton of dead money for buster @ss.

If you cant read defenses you cant even be a good backup how many offenses in the nfl only use half the field . He has nothing to bring to a qb room .
