The reason you sign Rose is because you can get him on a moderate 2 year deal and keep your options open to something better. Lonzo would be a long term commitment and would lock us into a team couldn't even make the play-in.

However they are about to back up the brinks truck for Zach and that may bind us up cap wise anyway.

exactly. Now is the time to take on salary before it’s no longer an option post the brinks truck backing up. Rose isn’t the answer

The bulls should be able to max zach, pay Vuc his current deal, and add another max or near max player in a year or two if they avoid other long term deals at significant salary.

Overpaying role players and not being financially flexible enough to add star talent when they become available isn’t preferable

Hell i would trade Vuc to get Lillard.

Lillard-LaVine would be CRAZY.

Include Vuc and keep theis? I could roll with that.

Vuc, Coby, Lauri and some 1sts? Would probably have to include Williams though I would imagine

We would be a slightly better trailblazers if we included Vuc

We would be a slightly worse trailblazers if we signed ball lol

Seriously though, ideally you keep both lavine and Vuc and add lillard. Don’t see a realistic option though, unfortunately.

That’s a strange take considering the Bulls finished 10 games under .500 with that lineup and the blazers went 42-30 and made the playoffs. Granted, bulls didn’t have Vuc the entire season and Zach had the health and safety protocol.

Like I said though, I agree that ideally you keep lavine and Vuc in any Lillard deal but it’s very unlikely the blazers bite.

interesting…I didn’t realize the bulls traded for ball last season and still finished under .500

point is, if you give up everything but Zach to get Lillard, you’re basically just slightly better than the current trailblazers duo of Lillard and mccollum. Lillard and Lavine is slightly better, but it isn’t taking the bulls past the 2nd round ever

whereas, a more complete team including ball, Lavine, vuc, PWill, etc has a better chance of evolving to a contender imo

So if the Bulls get Ball does that mean his father gets a spot at the end of the bench?

Would it entice a third star to come here though? Our problem is there is a stigma on this franchise where stars don’t want to come here. Most of the rumors point to jordan. But are we finally in a new era where we can get that top free agent? And if we are would it be easier to get that super star free agent with lillard+Lavine or with lavine+current roster?

what I’m saying also is based on the big if there is a free agent available that can make the lavine lillard option work which is a big assumption (idk who all the free agents are this year)

there are no FA superstars available to the bulls, and Lillard is a pipe dream anyways. Point still stands, we would be the trailblazers basically if we gave up everything but Lavine to get Lillard

If the bulls can’t acquire another legitimate star player, they’re going to be irrelevant regardless.

How does ball fit into this conversation? Literally talking about a lillard trade lol….

interesting take considering the finals is between Milwaukee and Phoenix right now. Neither has more than 2 all stars. The notion you have to have 3 superstars to win a title is false
