This is essentially what all Trubisky’s charts looked like with Bill Lazor calling plays. His air yards stats per attempt went down drastically in the switch from Nagy to Lazor.

Weren’t Bears fans praising Lazor for getting the ball out of Trubisky’s hands quickly and simplifying his reads? And now we are somehow using those same praised games as a negative?

I could see people being angry over the gameplan against the Rams. But to use Lazor’s charts as a form of justification for said anger seems odd and misplaced.

This. Lazor took a collection of random as plays (Nagy) and watered them down because his QB was inept, now we are back to the potluck play calling because Nagy swore that it was Mitch and Mitch only holding him back from offensive guru nirvana

The only reason we'd owe Mitch an apology was for the people that put 100% of the blame on him. He sucked. I'm glad we're rid of him. Too bad Nagy is lingering like a hot fart in a cold room. Because he should have been escorted out of the building first.

Both of my posts in this thread have referenced farts.

Duh Bears keep harping about the Rams D not allowing them to go Deep but yet look at Mitch's pass chart vs past Packer game compared to Dalton vs Rams.

The pass charts are almost a carbon copy . . . uh oh

Hey stupid. Just because one sucked more than the other doesn't mean both don't suck.

The thing is, our offense was very bland and ultra conservative Sunday night, but apart from a few misques, it was decently effective. It’s not a style I think we can have long term success with though, and I am starting to believe that is Nagy’s true colors at this point.

Unfortunately, our Safeties gave the equivalent of Leno-level playing in our secondary. That was a much worse performance than the offense…

People aren't paying attention. The Bears were forced into these play calls because their oline was banged up and the Rams defense relies on two deep safeties to shut down the long pass game. The Rams can do this because of Aaron Donald. IT forces most teams to do quick passing routes.

Except their run defense was clearly ebbed so of course Nagy shuts down Monty. You know who else is good at running and making big plays? Fields

Meanwhile we have Mack and Hicks, yet the Rams could do whatever they wanted to do on offense. Hmmm…

There is a time to take what the defense gives you. Even the great majority of the time. But you also have to choose spots to be aggressive and keep that defense honest. Nagy prefers to not take those risks. He takes the conservative approach to a fault…

Yeah, I don’t want our future star QB being used as a glorified RB…

This is the unwinnable argument by either side. If Fields comes in game 4 and excels, no one will know if he got a kick start from sitting a few games or not.

He doesn’t need to be one but the option play was one of the main reasons we scored in the first place

This board is schizophrenic, lol. Today Nagy is too conservative and last year Lazor was applauded for his conservative use of Mitch.

That Nagy put him in at the around the 15 and then pull him at the 2 after that pass was ridiculous. I don't mind sitting him for a few but have been calling for him inside the 10 for weeks. He can stress a D and force gaps like few QBs in that position. It's more about talent than complex reads, line adjustments etc there. 1/2 field roll with a guy like Fields is a killer there.

It's less being too conservative than sequencing and at least keeping their safeties honest. You can send Mooney and Goodwin deep on the sides to occupy the safeties and hit AR under them for 15 to 20 yards behind the already deep backers. Run Kmet on some skinny posts in that same gap. Force them to change some things and take advantage. They forced us to the short edges and we just said OK.
