From my experience it's very hard to buy something that isn't being sold.

Sounds like they are relying on the fans to cause an uproar and offer to buy the bears.

lol, we ain't goobers like the packers.

Lol. Chicago politicians only know how to take money from people and waste it. They don’t know how to make it.
That's the funny thing when I read it. They said hey, you don't know how to run the team...let us take it off your hands and do all the work. Bitches please. We all see how well you do running the city. Stay away from my Bears.

Yeah I hope the rumors this time are true about the Bears looking to sell in the future but it pops up every couple years.

Better idea: Buy the Green Bay Packers and evict the Bears from Solider Field for general suckatude. Then force Aaron Rodgers to hold a press conference to apologize to Chicago for the "I own you" remark.

Every Wednesday.

For the rest of his life.

Think its very realistic, just not to the city.

Don't be shocked if the current minority owner of rivers casino places a major bid at the team. He's worth 7 billion and already has a partnership with churchill downs which owns the racetrack the new stadium would be built at.

Once ginny passes, I'm not sure it makes sense for the family to stay put with the franchise. The value is so high now there is no need to retain the asset for anything other than nostalgia.

Let me get this straight - this Cardenas guy believes the City can buy the Bears via crowd-sourcing?

Cardenas’ resolution calls on the City Council’s Committee on Special Events, Cultural Affairs and Recreation to “convene a hearing” to authorize a “feasibility study on whether it is practical and advisable for the city to pursue the purchase of the Chicago Bears.”

Shortest hearing ever.

Gavel slams.
Bam!Bam!Bam!

I call to order, the Committee on Special Events, Cultural Affairs and Recreation's hearing on feasibility to pursue the purchase of the Chicago Bears.

No!!
