Ald. George Cardenas (12th), Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s City Council floor leader, plans to introduce a resolution Wednesday to authorize a feasibility study on “whether it is practical and advisable for the city to pursue the purchase of the Chicago Bears.”

Think its very realistic, just not to the city.
Don't be shocked if the current minority owner of rivers casino places a major bid at the team. He's worth 7 billion and already has a partnership with churchill downs which owns the racetrack the new stadium would be built at.
Once ginny passes, I'm not sure it makes sense for the family to stay put with the franchise. The value is so high now there is no need to retain the asset for anything other than nostalgia.
