3 years with mediocre QBs. Again, the coordinator issue needs to be a major point of emphasis in the interview process. But the guy wanted Herbert, they gave him Tua.

i agree that herbert is better than tua, easily

but the juggling of 4 OCs and 3 OL coaches in 3 years is a major red flag. especially when we want stability on offense

My biggest concern with Flores is his coaching style starts to do more harm than good unless you are winning. This is why so many Belichick guys fail. They try to bring his same style of coaching to teams who have shit rosters and they don’t win in the first couple of years, and they end up pissing everyone off because players aren’t seeing the return on their hard work.

I told you guys that he would get scapegoated months ago. Its so obvious.
Well if he gets scapegoated that would mean he is available to be the Bears Head coach OR OC....

Personally, I would have a little less respect for the Ravens FO if they did that....

Flores had a winning record the last 2 yrs.

But knows nothing about offense which is our biggest weakness. Duh

It’s not necessarily a bad thing man, John Harbaugh might be a top 3 coach in the game and he was a special teams guy. Tomlin and McCarthy don’t call the plays. Staley, Bill B, etc.

whether he is a bust or not is irrelevant. you dont talk to people in whatever manner you feel like because youre the head coach.

every oc has left a job under him every single year. chan gailey wasnt even fired, he resigned. i also question his ability to find a good OC when you have chan gailey coming out of retirement to do it.

Im just saying that Tua could have ulterior motives for not liking Flores, like the fact that Flores tried to run him out of town for Watson lol. And was very open about how bad he is/wasn’t his guy (which I agree he was rude/shouldn’t have done). I admit Flores is a bit of an a-hole, but you could say the same thing about Bill Belichick or Nick Saban.

I just think with his experience and success he’d be a great fit. He had issues because he butted heads with his GM. He won’t have that issue here if he’s hired first.

I want a coach that cares more about winning than being nice. Flores fired 2 offensive coordinators in 3 years. He won’t stand for mediocrity.

Doesn't sound like he's getting any consideration for a HCing position. Id be curious to see what happens if they can him but i honestly haven't seen those reports. They've had a ton of injuries. Wouldn't be surprised if they ran it back tbh.

Also, unrelated but if Flores is serious about coming here and interviewing, it tells me he has serious respect and interest in Fields as a QB. One more incident with a high drafted QB would end his career and he’d only want to come here if he was all in on Fields.

That warms my heart that an established coach sees great things in Fields. Especially one that was vocal about wanting Herbert over Tua.

He’s kind of like Tom Thibodeau. But for that reason I don’t see it being a complete disaster. He could be a good “transition” coach or else, a keeper. IMO Flores brings the least risk. Even less risk than Pederson.

"Maybe he will be good, maybe he will be bad" is a shitty method for picking a HC

I'm in agreement with those who think we need a Ditka-type coach who will go in,
kick butt and hold everyone accountable. After Harbaugh, Flores would be my 2nd choice.
Harbaugh isn't coming.

Doesn’t look like Flores is either.

Seems like a handshake deal might be in place with Flores and Texans. They are gonna try to keep Watson.

I mean if there is any way to salvage that relationship AND he's proven innocent then you have to try if you're the Texans. Of course if he's guilty then fuck that guy.

You can't be serious, right?

Do you think Flores is going through this process because he loves Fields? Really?

I could think of millions of reasons each year that make a lot of sense why he'd want the job.

Maybe here's another way of looking at the same question. Has he turned down any interviews? Is there any team which would make you think their QB is so bad that he's not interested in even talking about receiving millions of dollars from them?

Where did you see that? If true it would make sense for the Texans to do that.
