Wondering what place in the city limits of Chicago ( no burbs) do you all think is the best? Only reason I ask is I am watching a news segment in California about said subject with one place the clear winner.

There used to be a hot dog cart on the corner of 32 pl and Aberdeen in Chicago ..An old guy ran it..His name was Mike..Mike died, and his daughter took it over..I don't know if it's still operating, as I haven't been back there in over 25 years....Best Hot Dog I ever had.

"Several years ago, Bridgeport residents besieged a local radio station that was conducting a poll to find the best hot dog in Chicago. Those calls helped him to win first place."

Another great place at 5300 Milwaukee was Tastee Hastee. They are closed now.

" What set it apart from other frankfurter emporiums were the trimmings. “Everything on” meant you got mustard, tomato, onions, cucumber, lettuce, dill pickles, piccalilli, and both green and red peppers. My Dad appreciated all that stuff, so he’d simply tell the man, “Run it through the garden.”

My son and I hit Chicago Dog House on Fullerton last summer when we were in town, after kayaking on the river, and we loved it.

What ya gotta do is head on down to the Shell station off 57 heading thru Kankakee.

There's a diner in an abandoned UPS truck, where they'll go next door to the Shell station, buy a pack of hot dogs, and microwave a couple of em for ya, then toss it in a cold piece of bread with some mustard.

They do offer ketchup, but they have little choice, their food is terrible.
