Mike Martz says mean things about the Bears and Justin Fields. (Non football talk OK. This may not be a safe thread)

he has better stats than alot of HOF TEs. Different eras but those are facts
Completely different eras. I mean completely.

He had a nice 5 year run but otherwise just played a long time. I mean c’mon the guy never caught over 8 TDs in a season.

Jason Witten caught 9 TDs in one season and never touched 9 TDs again. Why the arbitrary number of 8?

Witten had way more yards and was a much more complete TE. (He could actually block)

Like not even in the same ball park as players.

I am surprised he never hit double digits on TD’s though.

A Kirk Cousins. I’m a big Cousins fan. … He’s very consistent. He’s very coachable.

I watched him as a rookie. In fact, when I was working at Fox Sports, we did his first start against Cleveland. He was a really good player, and I like him. I think they can win a championship with him. Is he a great player? No, he’s a very good player.
:cutty::cutty:
I also have questions about whether he can really react fast.

And they were so bad coaching-wise. The head coach there (Matt Nagy) didn’t know what he wanted to do with him. It’s a no-win situation, and I feel bad for the kid. He needs to be on a good team where he can back somebody up for a year or two.

Yeah, He's all about giving a quarterback help. Richmond Webb, 30 step drops, and not using a tight end say otherwise.

Fields can prove everyone wrong. maybe the Bears assemble a decent season. maybe they don't and have to go back to the drawing board again. it's put up or shut up time if they don't like the negative media attention they're getting. I view them as an unproven commodity right now.

Sounds like Martz expects the Bears QB curse to continue.

Witten also played like 70-80 more games.

Witten is the better player. But Olsens stats are better than the average HOF TE

He's just missing the All Pro nods.

The only thing he said I disagree with is "It’s going to take a long time for them to get talent there". The Bears will have the ammo to improve the offensive talent quite a bit by this time next year. Otherwise he's probably annoyingly right.
True but will Poles do it is the question.

Much like Nagy is dogmatic to his "system," so was Martz. Whatever superlatives we want to say about Olsen, the point is that he was a +player and Martz thought it easier to send him to Carolina than work him into his offense. While I'm sure there is a system that Getsy wants to run, there has been no indication that is more important than the players on the roster. Not sure we would ever say that about Nagy and Martz.

The Mike Martz Keys to a Successful Offense:
1. HOF QB (Warner)
2. HOF APB (Faulk
3. 2 HOF WRs (Bruce and Holt)
4. HOF LT (Pace)
5. Profit
Yes, sir. The guy is a pompous ass. You throw away the years he coached an absolutely loaded Rams team and what you got left is a pure shit resume. He hasn't had any kind of NFL coaching job in 11 years.
