Got a lot of looks at him yesterday and all I can say is "meh". Khalil Herbert looked good, but him and Montgomery are the better combo.

Get well soon!!!
Looked slower than the pre. Maybe tentative?

Probably, but it's not like he has been tearing it up on special teams either.

It was his first taste of real NFL action, so I can't be too harsh on him yet.

Or he’s playing against faster guys.

I can’t imagine they are going to be rushing Monty back with how Herbert looked. RB depth could be an issue. Guess we’ll get a look at Ebner too

I think they view Monty as a 3 down back and sprinkle in the others.

I thought about this scenario, and expected them next year or in event of injury to rush Herbert as a 2 down back, and have Ebner become a third down and two minute specialist.

However then Herbert did what he did. So maybe he gets a shot to just be the man idk…

He started 4 games last year. I wouldn't say it's his first taste.

Monte critics said Monte doesn't have break-away speed. Herbert got chased down from behind too.
In postgame show, Briggs praised Herbert but added the comment that Monte probably would've had near 200 yards. With that said, Monte is their #1 when healthy but we need them both.
To be fair, Herbert got caught by Stingly who runs in the 4.3s and also had a good angle to cut him off. Not many backs, if any in the League are out running him to the corner on that play.

Speaking of special teams, I think they can certainly can get a better kick returner. This guy literally stops on the 10 yard line on every kick return like he is assessing where to try to fall.

Should not rush Monty back.
We need him, or may need him, to win games, but we need him back for the year, not particularly this game.

Herbert can get the yards assuming the OL opens the holes they've been opening.

I'm not so sure Ebner is ready, but maybe he just needs more reps.
