I think he'll perform much better after the bye week. Tough learning a brand new system in-season. I still think he's a #3 caliber receiver (like Mooney) on a championship level team.

The 2nd round pick was definitely an overpay but I'm fine with the trade for 2 reasons. 1. It showed Fields that he's definitely the guy in Chicago going forward and 2. Since he arrived Kmet has exploded and turned into KmeTD.

The Bears still desperately need a #1 receiver and probably a #2 as well unless Claypool or Mooney were to significantly improve with the addition of the #1 (certainly possible).

To anybody who watches football and not just the bears, it was obvious. The Steelers couldn’t wait to rid themselves of Claypool because of his inconsistency. His size is a mirage because he doesn’t play like a big receiver. He’s a finesse guy like Robbie Anderson.

Said from day one I’d wait to see him after the bye.

Jared Goff looked pretty impressive today, didn't he?

Didnt watch as dont give a shit about the Lions beyond them winning to stay ahead of Bears.

How did Williamson fair in his debut?

You mean all 6 snaps, 5 of which were running plays?
Come on man, you can do better than that!!
But, almost as good as Claypool.......

Toooo early to tell. Dudes very talented and i think can be great but i see him as an elite #2 WR. We need a stud for him to play off of. WR #1, Claypoole and Mooney if healthy can be a nice trio. Dont sleep on Harry either.
If you’re elite, you wouldn’t be a #2 receiver…

His benchmark is Christian Watson who was taken about at his slot.

pretty fucking tired of watching throws to Claypool behind the LOS that are blown the fuck up for negative yards. Getsy needs to use that as a fake b/c it is not working as a play

50-50 on it actually. I for sure and not giving up a king's ransom to move up a few spots for Stroud. If he happens to be there when the Lions pick, then maybe.......

A few intriguing options

1) Trade down (Rams pick) and pick up a 1st in next years draft.
2) IF Seattle drafts a QB, sign Geno Smith
3) Pick up a developmental QB and sit him behind Goff one year.

I am really liking JJ mcCarthy, would love to see the Lions grab him next year.

So Goff needs to be replaced. Exactly.

He's fine. They aren't using him correctly right now. They did use him well last week with Siemien, but back to being misused today. 6 targets, 4 of them were screens. Hell, they weren't even really screens. They were just throwing the ball to him outside 1-on-1, no blocking set up to let him run with the ball. Just put it on him to break a tackle.

He did catch those 2 passes in the flow of the offense on back-to-back plays (fumble on the 2nd catch), but other than that, it almost feels like they are saving Claypool for next year.

ELITE

noun

"a select group that is superior in terms of ability or qualities to the rest of a group"

Im comparing him to other #2s not all receivers.

Who was the #1 receiver on the Super Bowl winning Steeler teams? How about the KC Chiefs last year? Did those teams only have one #`1 receiver?

Yeah dude is one of the best Go route runners in NFL and they wasting him on short passes.
Yep. Overthinking it like crazy. Make the defense commit a safety to him over-the-top or risk getting dunked on with jump balls or back-shoulder throws. It shouldn't be too hard, especially considering he hasn't had a hell of a lot of time to memorize the playbook.
