It wouldnt be a waste. This team would benefit from an every-down- and any-down-back that offers more than Montgomery.

I would like to see this team reward Monty with an extension, but I think everyone knows that the likelihood that he gets his next contract here are less than 50/50.

Would much rather have Pollard. A Polllard (70%)/Herbert (30%) type split. His fractured fibula should help bring his price down some too.

Well. If the Bears are going to replace Montgomery, then Barkley would work.

So let me get this straight:

He’s linked to the Bears because the Bears will need a RB and have cap space?

This could help patch the offense until a qb emerges
I really think poles will be looking for RB talent in the draft, Barkley is special, but that kind of salary is not necessary to improve the RB room. FYI a QB has emerged, schmuck!

No way in hell I pay this guy $16 MM which is what I read he wants like McCaffery got from 49er's. No thanks
With his injury history and his recent comments about not trying to reset the RB market, I’d guess his salary is somewhere between $12-14M/year.

I go back and forth on this one. He would be a massive upgrade to the offense, but his health is a big risk.

I would not spend big money on a running back.

Draft a rookie, pay him a lot less, and spend your capital elsewhere.

My two cents.

So you had a choice in who would write the article, @JordanSigler who isn’t a piece of shit or Biff who would have attacked Fields somehow

Definitely not spending money on a RB. Draft them and move on when the rookie contract is up

Poles loves Montgomery. If Montgomery and poles are close on a number I think he's a Bear come next season.
