Justin Fields had some positive comments about Chase Claypool:
“Chase has improved tremendously from the end of last year to now,” Fields said, via Josh Schrock of NBCSportsChicago.com. “That’s one thing I’m truly proud to say, seeing his work ethic, his attitude change. You can just see he’s taking another step, so definitely excited for that.”

So maybe there's cause for optimism. In any case it seems unstated but implied that this year is an improvement from last year.

Translation from Fields: Claypool is a lazy, entitled, overrated, piece of shit that his previous organization was begging to get rid of and the dumbest organization in football traded virtually a first rounder for. He’s slightly less of a piece of shit this year and it’s just exciting to see!

in claypool's defense. It's got to absolutely suck to run wind sprints for over 2 hours knowing you may get 1 ball thrown your way. Mofo had Mitch Trubisky, Fields and Pickett throwing his direction, lol

this is claypool and mooney's contract years. they playing a position that pays big bucks (2nd highest paid position in nfl). Both them have high motivation to train and work hard but it can go down hill quick if they not getting targets and the losses mount again for another loser season.

Absolutely not. He sucked for 1/2 a year last year. How much time are we going to give him? Wasted pick. #32 if you remember correctly
I always did and still do hate the trade but you have to give him this year to prove the trade wasn't as bad as it seems now IMO.

The question is....was Claypool properly incorporated into the offense? The guy is 6' 4" 238 Why was he not utilized
in match ups to take advantage of his size.
Not only that, it's his speed at that size, he can run posts at an elite level but they didn't use him for that shit nearly enough last season.

I'm hopeful. He didn't show much last year, but if he's healthy and has a full training camp with the team under his belt he may improve.

The proof will be in the pudding...Until we've had a bigger sample size, no one here really knows.

Even if they just know that they do.

Claypool was robbed in the Dolphins game. He was straight up mugged in the air. That was PI all day every day. Refs just didn't want to throw the flag and fuck up the tank.

It's gonna be a little bit of pick your poison for opposing defenses this year. Double cover Moore or spy Fields and Claypool might feast.

the secret sauce there could also be Mooney if he is ever able to walk again. If not, we have Tristan Ebner and Velus Jones, Junior
