What's going on with this guy? Is he still hurt. Something just doesn't seem right with him this season.

There are some ABs where he looks foolish. But his stats say he's having a good season. There is plenty to complain about before KB, he's at the bottom of my list.

He’s cares little about winning and only about that big payday. He already turned down the Cubs massive contract offer thinking he’s worth more. Trade him in the offseason to any unsuspecting dimwit who thinks he has value. Good riddance.

He’s been living off one good season. If the cubs give him 300 million they are the idiots they have always been.

Which one season would that be?

2015 6.1 WAR?
or
2016 7.8 WAR
or
2017 6.7 WAR?

He has 4.5 WAR this season thus far which is closing in to Baez's #2 MVP season total. (5.3) which was worse than those 3 seasons.

But if you gauge it by MVP or but well Yelich had a 7.6 MVP season so I guess anything less than a 7 WAR means he is a choker right?

Problems with the O.
1. Heyward .163/.247/.350 as a lead off
2. Castellanos not much here.
3. Bryant hitting .289 OPS .918 Nothing to see here.
4. Rizzo .283 OPS .896 Nope
5. Baez .286 .864 OPS nope.
6. Schwarber .227 yep. problem here. .806 another issue.
7. Lucroy. Seems that he handles starters well. I'll let his numbers pass.
9. Kemp. Big hit but .225 BA is nothing to hang your hat on.

So there are problems happening but it is not in Bryant.

Maybe they need to lead off with him as he did in college.

3B Bryant .388 OBA
1B Rizzo .390 OBA
LF Castellanos .409 OBA (SLG: .721) (#1 on team)
CF Happ .275 BA and a .362 OBA. (SLG .588) (#2 on team)
SS Baez .289 BA His OBA is low at .317 so you really want him in a RBI slot. (SLG .547) (#3 on team)
RF Heyward .350 OBA and .269 BA
C Caratini .257 BA and a .351 OBA
2B Russell .247 BA and a .329 OBA. He meshes well with Baez and it tends to pay off on out generation.
With Lucory in at catcher you aught go with Bote to counter the O loss. Even though Lucroy has been fairly decent as a Cub in general.

I said earlier that Bryant was having a fine season so I'm with you until a point. But you leave out 2018 where he only had a 2.3 WAR. Maybe you excuse that by saying he had a nagging injury but the numbers are still the numbers.

I don’t view life or sports by numbers. I prefer to go by what I see and feel. But since you like to toss out stats tell me, how often does he drive in runs when he comes up to the plate with men in scoring position?

For Bryant's career his stats are .285 BA. .279 with bases empty, .294 with men on base and .268 with RISP. This year he is currently hitting .289. .273 with bases empty, .314 with men on base and .273 with RISP. League BA for 2019 is .254.

He was injured. Even then he was over 2 WAR.

And injury is not a excuse. Never has and never will.

The way to look at is he produced 2.3 WAR in spite of injury.

Okay, not bad, but is he worth a 300M contract? I say no. For me I prefer someone who can produce more than ~ every 4th time he comes up with men in scoring position, particularly when you are placed in the order where that is what is expected of you to drive in runs. Also, the guy seems to be a bit fragile as well.

I'm not a Bryant hater by no means, just think he is overrated, as are a few other players on this team. Would I have him on my team, of course, but not for one of those contracts that end up like the last two long term big money ones that proved to be (Soriano, Heyward).

Your points are uneducated.
