We got third I will take it! Should have sucked for Hughes but this could be a game changer if bowman doesn’t fuck it up

Looks like a good prospect but young, how soon before he makes an NHL roster?

Bowen Byram
Date of Birth
Jun 13, 2001
  • Position
    D
  • Height
    6'1" / 185 cm
  • Weight
    192 lbs / 87 kg

  • Shoots L
    NHL Draft
Top Prospect eligible for the 2019 NHL Entry Draft
An exceptionally gifted defenceman that knows his strengths and plays by them. He possesses elite skating ability and is at his best when playing high energy, up-tempo hockey. He handles the puck well and is able to keep control of it under pressure. He makes calculated decisions that consistently shift momentum in his team's favor. His creativity in the offensive zone speaks to his confidence in his ability to be a game-changer. Defensively astute, he actively takes away lanes and limits options for the oncoming opposition. All-in-all, Bowen Byram is a workhorse that understands how to take advantage of turnovers and shift the pace of play in his favor in all three zones. (Curtis Joe, EP 2019)

controls the game … plays with swagger … smart and skilled … plays in all situations … doesn’t panic with the puck … good support of his partner,

Byram is the real deal.

Don't be shocked if the Hawks take Turcotte or the russian

3rd isn’t a bad spot in this draft. Hughes will go number 1, but the Rangers could take the Russian given their history with drafting them. That leaves Kakko in the Hawks’ lap. If Hughes/Kakko go 1 and 2, I’d take Byram. Joker, Boqvist, Byram, Mitchell, Beaudin, etc. Byram and Joker lock down the first pair and this slots Boqvist on the 2nd where he can focus more on PP duties. Anyway, Byram makes the Hawks have the deepest and possible best stable of young defenders in the NHL. The 3 Cups were basically a result of the Keith, Seabrook, and Hammer. Everything else was ancillary. You build from the back end out not the other way.

Drafting Byram also gives Bowman the flexibility to flip Gus when his value will never be higher and when the Hawks really don’t need him long-term. At a cap hit of basically nothing, there is no reason why the Hawks can’t get another 1st rounder plus from a cap strapped team for Gus. Toronto comes to mind where they need inexpensive players while their cap is busted.

If we go with Byram we could put him with Seabrookzival to start as his 200ft game and speed could carry that pair. Let's face it Seabrookzival is going nowhere. Our D pairings could be without any other moves as

Keith Gus
Byram Seabrookzival
Joker Murphy
Forsling and Dahlstrom as the 7

Add in that we would have in the pipeline, and anyone of these guys if ready could push Joker or Murphy.

Mitchell
Kyrs
Boqvist
Beaudin

This would allow us to upgrade the Forward via F/A, or trades. Everything aboot Byram screams 200ft 2 way D-man with elite skating, and IQ.

Man you guys should listen to the crying on Detroit talk radio 97.1 about the draft lottery lol

It’s kind of like how conservatives cried about voter fraud after Obama won and how liberals want to change the electoral college laws after trump won lmfao. Good stuff change the rules cause it didn’t work out for you lol lol

It all went down hill for them when they decided not to keep Hossa and keep franzen instead. It worked out for us though lol. They haven’t been able to lure a top free agent since hossa. They definitely aren’t the juggernaut they once were
No, it honestly went all down hill when they got all whiney about their fans in the eastern time zone missing games on the left coast because they started at 10:00 their time and being moved into the eastern conference. There will also be a mourning time from the Joe to Little Caesars arena lol.
