I thought they changed the verbal agreement to 6pm on 6-30 to be able to have the news breaks report on the agreements instead of at midnight.

The Jazz get an expensive upgrade over Rubio, and the Grizzlies dump some salary.

Not sure how Houston would accomplish this. They don't have any cap space. They'd have to trade some key pieces (eric Gordon, Clint Capela, and PJ Tucker) to make this possible. If not all 3, definitely two.

Unless there's a sign-and-trade involved, and Philly sends Butler and Simmons to Houston for a package that would include Eric Gordon and Chris Paul or Clint Capela and picks.

Can't see any way in the world another team takes on that horrid CP3 contract

Same. But if Philly knows they're going to lose Butler (and possibly JJ and Tobias Harris), they may get desperate enough to make a deal for a final run at a Championship.

Actually, now that I think about it, if I were the 76ers, I'd give serious thought to trading Butler and Simmons to the Rockets for Gordon, Paul, and future 1st round picks.

Gordon would replace the loss of Redick. Paul is still an elite passer, but he's also a MUCH better shooter than Simmons. From here, they can dig deeper into the luxury tax and bring back Tobias Harris. Embiid would like this, too, because he can go back to being more of a post player. Simmons shitty shot forces him to play on the perimeter more.

A lineup of Paul, Gordon, Harris, and Embiid would definitely make noise.

Otherwise, they'll have to hope to retain Harris and be stuck with a Simmons/Harris/Embiid trio for the foreseeable future. That isn't gonna cut it.

I see that logic, just not sure if the Sixers would let go of Simmons that easy. Also not sure if the Rockets would take Simmons since they like to jack 3s...although he does fit well into the layups only category. It's an interesting idea at least

Except the Bulls whose management believes they themselves Garpax are incredible human beings, the smartest guys in the room and if only they had a point guard could show off the rest of the roster they have built.

I could actually see Garpax if they run out of options, can't get Garland, Walker, or Ball....

Paul would make the Bulls an instant playoff team and the east is in shambles if Philly and Toronto collapse while Boston hemorrhages angry talent because they tried to feed too many mouths this year and let the injured white dude piss everybody off sitting on the bench watching frankenstein and his bandages hobble around.

The only teams taking Pauls contract is a team counting on insurance paying half his salary when he is off hurt.

Or a team in turmoil like the bulls who can’t land a legit player unless they trade for them

Paul
Harden
Butler

On the same team.....that would be comical.

Would anyone pass the ball?

Well Paul doesn't take many shots. He's always been a pass first kinda guy.
