That was an exciting period of hockey. Lots of dynamite chances; Smith's big body keeping things honest. That third sweet chance from Toews to Saad in front of Smith was thrilling to watch.

Remember Studs Terkel in Eight Men Out standing up going "Did you see that PITCH?" That was me when Kane scored; goal instead of pitch. Used Nylander for a screen and didn't even look to the net until firing that shot.

So where was this type of desperation hockey when they needed it the most like on the Canadian road trip that sent this team back down in the standings. The only way this team makes the playoffs is winning the next 13 out of 16, and even at that it may not be enough.
