I think Urban has 4 or 5 pass deflections. Given that hes a situational player he is a competent guy in both pass and run defense.

He has gotten to the ball well on runs but lacks any pass rush. You definitely cant pass over him as an opposing QB.
i knew that..i rather have him crush QB's.. Urban can do it just want to see him get to the QB this week.

When we drafted Smith I commented on the mix of Kwiat and Smith growing to play well off each other. Got lots of shit over that one.

5 is pretty low. Adrian Amos got 9, not sure why HHCD would take almost half of what he got.
I think people thinking 4-5 for HHCD have a fundamental misunderstanding of how the market has changed over the last few years with increased cap. This year HHCD signed for a bargain price. Also everyone seems to ignore it, but Tre Boston is always a bargain

If Prince is gone I would have CB higher.

If everyone is back

1. OT
2. OLB, we do not have enough pass rush when Floyd is playing.
3. OG
4. CB, this would be #2 if Prince is cap goner.
I doubt OL gets addressed in the 2nd round unless there is real value or they're able to trade one of their 2 starting OTs. Now Whitehair has moved back to C the OL looks much better. Personally would say EDGE and CB are going to be higher priorities in the 2nd round. In fact I think addressing them is vital. OG is interesting. They'll stick for sure with Daniels. The only question is do they make a play for Scherff?

Secretly despite what I said about OT probably not being addressed in the 2nd round I'd love to see an OL on the right side of Whitehair, Scherff and Niang but I just don't see it.

My preference in the 2nd round would be something like Terrell Lewis and Bryce Hall. Both could go higher but they'd suit our needs. Give me those 2 and Scherff in FA and that's a great offseason.

The problem with HHCD is that he is likely to get 8-9/season. Once you pay Jackson you would have well over 20 million playing safety. That is a ton for a team that plays a lot of 2 deep looks.
I am cool with your idea of Bush at SS. He deserves a run. Some FA backup works as well.

If you don't get it, you're not worth the response... but I'll give you one anyway. Top 10 out of 64 pay or the top 15 percentile does not reflect, 'market value for a solid safety'. That's would be categorized as within the elite payment category. It's the equivalent to a top 5 middle linebacker or QB relative to his peers so he's this, which you objected too.
Amos is massively overpaid.

Would you rather have a guy that would be a guaranteed starter at guard, or a guy that may even actually replace Leno or massie?

Imagine getting another whitehair that you could immediately pencil in to play guard.... I’d rather that than a tackle. Particularly because there are a number of tackles projected in round 1.

I do not think you understand what "market value" is nor what "solid safety" means because it's largely due to a bias against someone. Amos was consistently one of the highest safeties in the game and he is 26 years old entering prime playing age.

Nothing detracts from the statement I made. The top guys are making in excess of 10 million comparatively to Amos' 9 which given his performance and age is an appropriate number, but he took less guaranteed money to get it compared to other players who make less per year, but have more guaranteed money.

Once Derwin James, Minkah Fitzpatrick, and Eddie Jackson and others get their pay day, it will continually bump Amos down the list.

It seems appropriate for a safety in Amos' category to be making between 7-9 million/season as they are a tier below those guys. If you want to make an argument that Amos got the higher end of his tier that he did not deserve (this is an argument I'd like to hear yet again) then feel free to make it with actual reasoning.

Until then, party on.

Market value for a 'solid safety' is not top dollar which is what top 15% is. Perhaps you are over rating him and think he's more than a solid safety. If that's your view, your allowed opinion though mine is different but then don't muddy the waters with solid safety pay nonsense. If you think he's an a near elite safety and is getting paid appropriately, just say what you mean so you can have a proper argument and stop this silliness. If you had said he's better than solid and getting paid that way, I'd have disagreed but not responded to you. I responded because your statement was nonsensical.

You really have no idea what you're talking about. It may help you to read up on NFL contracts a bit. You're being schooled and you cant even see it...lol
