GWAR. Hands down. Not only is the music great and performed impeccably but where else can you see the senseless slaughter of the gutterslime that litters this nation, and have their blood showered upon you?
For cash and prizes no less.

Scumdogs is one of my favorite albums of all time.

Jimmy Buffet and the coral reefer band are awesome in concert. Nobody should not see him at least once

They are still and always fun but long in the tooth. He’s almost talking through songs instead of singing them. Still fun but not what he was. He still has a really good band. I have seen him /them maybe 7-8 times.

I have seen so many bands so many times over the years, I’m not sure where I would start.

This is a hard question for me to answer. I kinda have to break it into a few categories.

*Large venue*

Metallica - w/ suicidal tendencies in 1994 at UNM

Pantera - Red Rocks in 1997

Farm Aid 1 - 1985 in Champaign, IL (My very first concert)

*Small Venue*

Kanye West (John Legend was his backup singer) on the college dropout tour - Sunshine Theater (maybe 1500 people) Caught a signed t-shirt at that event

Korn - Wool warehouse (maybe 500 people there and I am being generous)

*Quirky*

Michael Franti - Ft Tuthill in Flagstaff (Awesome show both times. )

Primus - 1996 Convention center (They did two shows in one year and I saw them both, Primus is better live than on CD)

I also saw the QueensRyche and Type -o- Tour which was a hell of a show as well as many others that I am sure would bring back memories if I dug out my ticket collection.

I haven't been to many, but I went to a Metallica concert about 14 years ago and Godsmack opened for them. Honestly, Godsmack outplayed them imo... Overall, great show.

I always get shit for being a big fan of his. I’ve seen him 7(? maybe?) times in 3 places and every time was such a great party. Lots of fuzzy memories

I'm a fan too. Just wish there wasn't so many rich old white guys at his shows.

Tho I did make $300 selling jello shots in the lot at one of his shows while I was on phish tour.

What an eclectic mix of concerts- that is great.

i will add another concert I loved just because of the uniqueness of it.
Beastie boys in 09 I think it was at either the aragon or riv.
They had a stadium tour going and the night before the stadium show for 5 boroughs, they did the small venue show for The Mix Up- live instrumental.
They were dressed in suits, and just played their instruments.
Unique and fun.

I dont do concerts much anymore, but I did get tix to see Ronnie Milsap in vegas.
I was just out there last week and my casino host asked if there were any shows I wanted to see- I named Ronnie out of the blue not even knowing if he was alive... she said "Will do" and next thing I know I am locked in to a vacation in december.

ZZTop in Chicago 1991ish, newbie Black Crows opened for them. ZZTop put on a great show, loved the conveyor belt walking.

Kansas solo show outside in small town Freeport IL 2007ish. Had all original members, including violinist Robbie Steinhardt, but not Livgren. They were stellar, sounded great.

Decent concerts were King's X at small venue/bar in Chicago, maybe House of Blues 2008ish, excellent show/sound. Foreigner/Joe Walsh 1987 Rosemont Theatre I think, just OK.

Actually, not considered a 'concert' but seeing The Nutcracker Suite ballet at the Arie Crown Theater in 1990ish was by far the best music event I've ever seen, bar none. Huge sets, big trope, feast for the eyes and the music was psychedelic.

So, I saw Wu Tang in Phoenix when I was a JR in high school. To this day, worst show I've ever seen. They began performing 2 hrs after starttime and needless to say,the crowd wasn't having it. No shows included Method Man, ODB and The Chef. The sound was terrible and they left after an hour. It was so bad it was funny.

Still doe,Wu Tang forever.

Best may very well have been Harry Chapin at the Auditorium in Champaign. He was late due to plane trouble in Chicago, so started about an hour after scheduled. Crew member/band member comes out and lets us know Harry will be there. Then he encourages the crowd to "not let on that anything is wrong" when Harry arrives, but as soon as he hits his first note, shout "Harry, you're late!" Very funny and he is such a great sport he found it perfect. Then when he started a song that begins "Got into town a little early", the crowd booed him, good naturedly. Fun night. We sat two rows off the stage. Plus he was always great.

Next would be first Springsteen concert in 1984, followed by Springsteen in Indy on what would have been Elvis' Bday and Bruce sang an Elvis tune as well as Santa Claus is Coming to Town, even though it was early January.

All the Buffett concerts have been fun. I have seen him 14 times, I believe it is, including 4 times on bus trips from Springfield - Chicago, St. Louis and Indy among them. Lots of booze preconcert led to some really drunk nights. Once at Buckeye Lake in Ohio outside of Columbus. Not an outdoor theater, but a temporary setup in a state park. It was like Mini-Woodstock. When they told me there would be 50,000 people when I called to buy tickets I laughed, thinking it was an outdoor theater and the girl was nuts. She wasn't.

Not trying to brag, but I have been to over a thousand concerts in my time so this was really hard.

It was a tough choice between personal best and technical best...if that makes any sense. I am going with a deeply personal choice.

This was in Seattle about two months after I took some menial job at some low rent record studio called Sub Pop. This concert really served as their coming out party as a major force in the local punk scene. Three bands that mostly played gigs at local bars/bowling alleys/high schools actually sold out an 1800 capacity theater. Not only was it a great show, but it was the first time in my life I ever got a real taste of being in on something that was going to be huge.

Strange part is everyone assumed it was the headliner, Mudhoney, that was going to be world famous and put Seattle on the map. Not the opening band that had to borrow Mudhoney's drummer because they had no one to play drums for them.

I'd say KISS had the best theatrics. Ozzfest was always great. I don't know how many bands I saw on the second stage before they became big. Saw Rob Zombie, Manson, Slipknot, Black Sabbath, System of A Down, Motley Crue, and Iron Maiden at various Ozzfest shows. Aerosmith & AC/DC put on great shows. Lynyrd Skynyrd. Metallica. Cypress Hill at the House of Blues was pretty damn awesome. DJ Q-Bert. Alice Cooper. I can't even remember all the shows. Scorpions/Motley Crue was probably my favorite. Deep Purple sucked without Blackmore. Fucking terrible. I'm always pissed when Lupe Fiasco comes around because I could never find anyone to go with me.
