Blue Angels flight leader relieved of command for flying too low

I enjoy the Blue Angels also. I recall being in Rockford a few years back for my niece's birthday when the Thunderbirds were flying (low) all over.

Yeah, this really sucks. I am a military plane buff of course my allegiance is to the Air Force and the Thunderbirds, I still enjoy the Blue Angels. We found out on Thursday of last week that becauce of the F'up by the commander of the Blue Angels (who has since been relieved of his duties) that a number of upcoming shows had been cancelled. We were to have them this Saturday and Sunday........... airshows are still good without them but they really make the show. I think it is going to significantly hurt our attendance this year. Rockford used to be one of the largest ground and air shows nationally until they moved the show from here and focues on Osh Kosh.

Rockford's show has been growing dramatically over the last several years but this is going to hurt it.



Ironically I have a brother and cousins who live right outside of Lynchburg, VA where the show in question happened. They were at the show and even said you could tell that they were flying very low.

There are a bunch of low flyby's similiar on video that are just as awesome to watch. One is of a KC-135.

Someome may be able to find them and post them.
