James McCann will hopefully make a big impact on his debut in the MLB

go ahead and win 5 games in a row here or so and consider buying an arm for the second half to follow Giolito/Cease...
get Lopez to be good Lopez for a stretch,

any arms on the move worth sniffing that can help both now and later? They could stand to move a young corner outfielder or middle infielder and its not too soon to start looking at buy options if it also helps the window.

The window can start whenever they choose it to start now. So make it now!! Add something as simple as a young arm with upside you think you can fix for cheap, or see what it would cost to re-acquire Quintana on the very cheap to free...

Explore every option to find an arm or two and this team could work there way into a frail wild card situation.

he was all over the place in the 1st inning.
I think he was over 30 pitches.
He struck out 6 and went 5 innings. 101 pitches.
Honestly? He looks hella promising. Not a bad first start at all.

Good sign if he showed the maturity to recover after a rough 1st inning like that.

Here are my current thoughts on Giolito, Lopez, Cease, and the return of Rodon and Kopech:

Didn't get to see his start but heard he was good. Did have some problems with control on the fastball?

In the first inning. Not sure if he was on a pitch count, or what they really wanted to do with him, but he mentioned that he was over his allotment for the first inning.

It was an entertaining double header yesterday. We had a glimpse of Cease and there was an impressive and clutch display of power from Moncada. Cordell had himself a game in the night cap.
