Where do you rank it? I absolutely love this movie. It has so many teachings and awesomeness in it. It so nostalgic. What 80's classics you rank above it? I will tell ya. I miss these type of movies. They seems to be no soul left in movies.
Anything by John Hughes is fantastic. I love how he can go from making a movie like Breakfast Club (another classic), then making a movie like Ferris Bueller's Day Off. I know what you mean by lack of soul in movies today. Part of it is CGI crap, but another part is simply a lack of great film makers..
