so we didn't want to pay the inflated price we helped inflate for Shaw, especially on the back end of a smaller player that might wear down...

so we trade a second and a third for the back-end...

WHAT FOR? For the locker room jokes?

A second and third mind you. Thats like Debricat and Kurashev

Is there anyone from the 3 cup teams we won't retread?

I say it is time to bring back Dave Bolland and Brent Sopel

He immediately talks about his contract value instead of hockey value. That is what the problem with Stan is, just worrying about making the checkbook balance on paper, not putting the right players in the right places to be successful.

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
On one hand, of all the players who might not lose their grit, sandpaper, and pack mentality when putting on the indianhead...he's probably near the top.

On the other hand, that cap hit.

On the other hand, in the end we traded what, 3 draft pick to Montreal for Debrincat and didn't have to lose Shaw?

On the other hand...retread.

We'll see how things look on the ice. I'm not too disappointed in this deal but I do agree that signing Shaw by Stan is the last act of a desperate man (or the 3rd act of Henry the Fifth)

The sad part of this that I keep seeing, is we need 2 pair for PK and 2 d men for PK, so it still leaves Seabroke on PP and Keith on PK. Now, a top Defensive forward to run the point on PP2 line like Sharp used to do and we might have something, but, yes, this is it, no room for Joker, Bovquist or Dahlstrom unless someone like Murphy gets moved, then its just one of them.

The sadder part is McDonuts thinks this is great for next years team and will give him a 3 year extension. Even one of the worst teams in the NHL still sees no desire to develop and make room for your draft picks.

Man it would be nice for Rockford and Chicago to swap AHL teams.

Panik got 2.75 / yr

so I can live with 3.9 for Shaw...the team is scrappier and more skilled now for it, so be it....
hurts in 4-5 years

Habs traded Shaw to low ball offer sheet Aho that the Canes will surely match.

If the Habs don't use that cap with an upgrade, they are making Stan look like a genius

Why would the Habs or Aho do that?

Habs do it to look like they are trying, which, I don't believe they are. That building is sold out regardless of they win ten games next year.

Aho? I have no idea. Maybe to rush the issue?

Habs were supposedly in on Duchense who signed with Nash. I never thought he was going Canada in the first place.

Now, OSing Aho, he isn't going to Montreal either.

If they really wanted to make an impact, they would OS Marner who at this moment is basically a guarantee with the minimal cap space the Leafs have.

Reading that tweet down it looks like the Habs did a dick move front loading the contract.

21 million sign on. I don't think the Canes match and take the picks. Which should be a lottery pick since the Habs are still a shit team with Aho.
my god.
