Is this about the most nightmarish season in your time as a fan?

There were bad seasons in the past, but they were just awful, talent bereft teams.
this team has some really good players, players we all like a lot, and it’s frustrating to watch that go to waste...

I really thought this season may be the one but as usual it comes right back in our face. This season, the year after the superbowl and the 2011 season when cutler broke his thumb are my worst seasons. Then again 2010 is probably the worst when we had a chance to put the packers away in the last game of the season and lost and then lost in the nfl championship game. Love me some conte

The goldfish-like memories around here are astounding.

Seriously, every other season is a depressing af with this franchise. The only exception was last season and that 2010 season.

and even that 2010 season ended very depressingly, with our QB getting roasted by the fanbase and national media

I mean, it seems that way.

There's been worse seasons in terms of sheer ineptitude of the team, and success of division foes, but I think the disappointing results so far compared to the expectations, combined with the success of the Packers and Vikings, and very little hope for the future, this is about as nightmarish a scenario as you can get this season.

This is so fucking depressing.
Not even close. Should have seen the early 1970’s teams! Everyone’s expectations of the team this year was way too high.

Seriously. At least the games are watchable today. Frustrating, but still watchable. Fuck, that last Trestman year I was changing the channel before the end of the first quarter.
Yup, 2014 was so brutal. Back to back games giving up 50 points. Just completely embarrassing. I'd say the Fox years were also pretty bad, but my expectations were so low at that point it didn't matter.

There was HUGE expectations going into this season.' Superbowl aspirations. So yea, this season is very very disappointing on a historic level!

To add more salt to the wounds, the Raiders have the Bears 1st round pick.

Nowhere close. A pretty good defense with a struggling offense ran by dodgy play calling and a below average QB is actually the epitome of an average Bears season/team.

It feels worse because you had higher expectations. Last year you were a 12 win team and the season might ended with unfinished. This year kinda started with those expectations.

The Bears have obviously had worse seasons, but I don't recall a season going in with such high hopes turning out so poorly. Added in with the fact that a Green Bay Packers team that really isn't that good (#11 offense, #26 defense) is sitting at 7-1 due to some crazy breaks going their way (Detroit game, Getting KC without Mahomes) makes it suck worse.

This isn't even close to year 2 of Trestman. That was a total train wreck. We aren't there yet..

I am trying to decide if hysterical fans or bears playing like shit is worse.

I guess I have to go with bears playing bad, but not by that much.

Yeah but that team wasn't supposed to compete for a Super Bowl, nor were they coming off a 12-4 year. That's the difference.
