Also, FWIW in relatively small sample, but since his recall Carl’s Jr is best in mlb at opponents BA and OBP
I enjoyed his appearance the other night when he came in against the cardinals and walked two guys and couldn’t finish the game with very little pressure. Edwards is mentally weak and not trustworthy. Hopefully this will be his last season with the team.

He is 27 with a career ERA of 3.26 with a WHIP of 1.063. He is also under control for 3 more years. You are going to see plenty of him.

I really hope that that is the last time we see Brach in a Cubs uniform. What a useless turd he has turned out to be. I guess we can thank him for being there and doing the best Chatwood impersonation this year.

That’s unfortunate. Hopefully he’ll be the last guy out of the pen the next few years. Think how good his numbers would be if he didn’t occasionally pitch in high anxiety situations

Everyone wants to defend him every year by showing his numbers, but unfortunately every season ends the same way with nobody having any confidence in him. Somehow people keep overlooking this each year in the hope he’ll become a new person with a different mentality than he’s had his entire life.

I like Edwards as a person and he has great stuff, but he’s not cut out for the spotlight. Maybe he can really put it all together on a small market team where he isn’t under the microscope.

My take away on that shit fest.

Q+ Denver = suck.
Brach = fake injury..

As far as figuring out hitting Peter. You have to give your O a chance. Getting a 8 run road block tends to flatten the tire.

So that is my take on this.

Just promote Alzolay. Take away the pressure to promote Kimbrel too fast.

Well that could be a internal solutions.

Brach DL
Promote Alzolay.
Push Q into the pen as the main lefty.
Start to field offers for Montgomery.
If none come up before Kimbrel gets up then demote Ryan.

Alzolay is not pushing anyone out of the rotation.

Not really about pushing anyone out.

It is more about team needs.

They need to axe Brach.

They need a high leverage lefty.

This is not about EGO. It is about winning the world Series.

Anyways if you would bother to look over Albret's game logs at Iowa you might think differently

They arent moving Quintana out of the rotation to go into the bullpen. Maybe playoffs. No chance in the regular season.

Q 131 WHIP
Ryan 138
Montgomery 179

I'll agree that in the play offs would be ideal.

They have to get there first.

Add to it they don't have the trade chips to aquire that level of talent.

That is why I started with a internal solution

I see this as Alzolay will be in the rotation next year. This is the right time to promote and see where he is at. Even in failure it helps with the adjustment process.

I must be losing my memory. I don’t recall this being the case “every year”.

Or defending him all the time.

I think it would be helpful for people who want to call all of our relievers the worst, to actually compare and contrast to other mlb relievers. But I don’t know if that’s possible since we apparently aren’t supposed to consider stats.

As we know, a reliever is either perfect or horrible, right?
