So anyone know what is up with Kyle? Velocity down or missing his location? Teams are hitting him and normally happens when he is hovering 87 on he sinker

Yeah, Hendricks seems way off so far this year. He's been getting hit around every start.

We need some damn runs though..

I thought he was going to lean on his curve more.

That's not atypical for him. He has a career 4.21 ERA in March/April. Of his career 275 earned 51 have come in March/April with those coming in 109.0 innings. He has a 2.92 ERA in the other months combined.

Probably just not getting calls off the plate as much and has to come over the plate more and their just teeing off on his slow stuff

Wouldn't be shocking. It also could be the colder weather reducing ball movement or him not getting a good feel with stiffer fingers. IIRC he has those tendancies of improvement with weather improvement. Very well could be related for a guy that is more co-depandent on feel vs stuff.

Case in point. Feel pitcher pitching in poor condition. Only can blow on fingers so much.

Still astounds me that they pay these dudes millions of dollars to do one thing....throw a fucking baseball...and they can't throw strikes.

Collins stuff looks good. He might be a keeper.

Knew Brach would eventually implode. His FIP was not supporting his ERA. #fake news

Come on. Brach, Chatwood, Cishek, Collins, Kintzler, Rosario, Ryan, Strop, Webster hogging roster spots and led by Mr Stats Hottvoy and Maddon doesn’t scream...Contender?

Monty, Damaged goods Morrow and Mr Phenomenal Stuff Edwards gonna return and get us to the promised land. Oh ye of little faith.

I tend to look at FIP to get a real opinion. Then WHIP.

Brach was a implosion waiting to happen. Kintzler has been the pen ace to date. When you look at those two stats a clear pic comes I to view of who you trust. Sure k/9 plays up in a inning closer role. But starting a inning I would rather stick with WHIP/FIP

Personally can't wait for Mekkes to promote and bump off a dumpster dive. Rather invest the innings into the future.
