I love Rizzo but this team needs someone who will call him out.

Dumb base running, no question. But I need to see that play again, he didn't look like he was dogging it on my first look....I think he's just that slow. My wife called me away and I missed the replay.

Then someone needs to sit him down and show him all the clips from when he is thrown out when he could have stayed put and explain to him that he is not fast. Or even just moderately slow.

So after lite research... it looks like back to back leadoff homers in consecutive games hasn't happened since 1969.
Really?
Interesting.
Hope he keeps it up.

Where would this team be without Heyward this year?

I'm actually surprised by that.....50 years.

Last time i see it happen is the Tigers and McAuliffe on April 28-29, 1969
Wait a minute!

You are saying nobody has done it?

No way. George Springer leads off with a HR so often he has to have done it recently just to name one.

Or Rickey Henderson.

Or Rickey Henderson.

I would guess it’s fairly common.

Do Bote and Happ close their eyes when they swing?

That is a serious question.

I think it's more along the lines of both of them making predetermined swings.....location be damned.

And I don't think they're the only ones guilty of this.

Darvish gets the K after an 11-pitch AB.

Gotta wonder if Clint Hurdle's days are numbered.....Pirates getting blown out again at home by the Mets 13-0....they have exactly one hit at the moment.
